Collapse: How Societies Choose to Fail or Succeed, by Jared Diamond

Collapse is huge in scope, comparing the factors that led to the collapse of societies as distant as Easter Island, the Maya, and Norse Greenland, and the successes of other societies that face similar challenges. Diamond applies the same factors to contemporary societies and the decisions that will determine whether they (we) will succeed in the future. Discussion will be led by Dan.

In February we will discuss Lesser Beasts: A Snout-to-Tail History of the Humble Pig,by Mark Essig.
