Lesser Beasts: A Snout-to-Tail History of the Humble Pig, by Mark Essig.

Lesser Beasts is a fascinating and witty outline of the 10,000 year history of the domestic pig, loved for his meat rather than for his intelligence, yet rejected as unclean in some cultures. Essig entertains and informs us, and also makes a plea for humane treatment of the pig.

We will be selecting books at the February 25 meeting. Fiction or non-fiction is fine. Please read the book before you recommend it. The person recommending the book usually leads the discussion.

If you have any questions regarding logistics of the event, e.g., where to meet, special assistance requests, parking, please contact the Event Contact listed.
