Shattering Glass at the University of Chicago Bookstore

The University of Chicago Bookstore presents a Q&A forum and book signing with Connor Coyne, U Chicago alumnus and author of Shattering Glass.

On Tuesday February 11th from 2-4PM U Chicago alumnus and author Connor Coyne will be at the bookstore for a Q&A session about the writing and publishing process of is second novel, Shattering Glass,followed by a book signing. Shattering Glass tells the story of four first-year college students trying to uncover a dangerous conspiracy at the peculiar yet prestigious Arkaic University, set in the fictitious city of Arkaic, Michigan. Throughout the novel Coyne notably combines the characteristics of his alma mater with his hometown of Flint, Michigan to add tangibility to his stories strange new setting. University of Chicago students, faculty, and alumni will recognize episodes inspired by University Theater, Scavhunt, Burton- Judson Courts, and more. Coyne took a unique self-publishing approach to Shattering Glass. The novel was published by Gothic Funk Press(founded by Coyne in 2010)with funds raised from a successful Kickstarter campaign. The press is in the process of expanding to promote experimental literature with Midwestern ties.
